‘Enders Favourite to fill our stockings!
Thursday, November 20th, 2008Christmas Day only comes round once a year; much like the appearances of character Jim Branning.
Eastenders favourite John Bardon, 69, who plays the elderly character, suffered a stroke last year and has since been recovering well. Bardon made a brief appearance in June this year which was viewed by nearly 9m viewers.
Recent reports suggested that John had made a visit to Esltree Studios, to film another episode. Since these reports were leaked, it has been confirmed that Jim Branning will make a brief appearance in an episode which airs at the start of December, as well as a scene which will go out on Christmas Day.
Walford’s First-Lady, June Brown, who play Dot Branning on the show, told a radio show; “He came back not long ago and he’s done two episodes so far. His birthday episode which has come out [already] and then he’s done another one which is Christmas day – I don’t know if I should say that but it’s not really that secret, is it? – and we’ve tried to make it more jolly, not so bloomin’ dreary.”
