The X Factor Update

Published on December 1, 2008 under Celebrity Gossip,Shows,X Factor

This week saw the remaining contestants take on versions of songs by Britney Spears, as well as other American songs, seeing at this was the first week that they would be singing two songs. This was also the first week where the public had full control of all voting!!

Ruth Lorenzo: Ruth sang Britney’s ‘I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll’ which was loved by all four judges, before later singing Bon Jovi’s ‘Always’ which wasnt admired as much, with Cheryl Cole describing it as “a bit shouty”.

JLS: This week, the lads sang ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ which Simon Cowell was not a fan of, mentioning that it lacked “Ruth’s balls”. They then went on to sing ‘You Light up My Life’ which was enjoyed by all.

Alexandra Burke: The strongest performance of the show, and the series. ‘Toxic‘ and ‘Listen’ were chosen for the stunner to sing, and she certainly sang with emotion. A very strong contender for not only the final, but for the crown.

Eoghan Quigg: Once again, Louis was impressed with Eoghann’s ‘Irish Charm’, but then again, when isn’t he. Quigg sang ‘Sometimes’ which didn’t impress Simon Cowell or Dannii Minogue. His second song was High School Musical’s ‘We’re all in this together’. The big production certainly overwhelmed the vocals on this track, but it seemed enjoyable.

Diana Vickers: Diana sang ‘Not Yet a Woman’ for her Britney song, but Louis Walsh was not impressed because there was no dancing? We asked Buster Bunny this morning what he thought; “Last time I checked, it was a singing competition, and Strictly Come Dancing was on the other side!” He then went on to add “I would love for a Strictly judge to complain that there was no singing in Rachel Stevens performance. Classic!” Vickers then closed the evening show with ‘Everybody Hurts’ and once again, there was very little movement. Uh-Oh Louis!!

The public were unimpressed with senorita Ruth this week, and she departed the show with her head held high.

With the show nearing the end, we think that Alexandra may just have the edge to pull this one out of the hat!! Magicians pull rabbits out of their hats, which is where we found Buster Bunny. Sign up now and play some bingo with him! Click here to register
